look. >> reporter: this 76 station in the western part of los angeles, the regular price, $4.99 a gallon, premium, $5.19 down the street at a different gas station, you will find the regular gas price at $5.39 and, as you might imagine, consumers are not so happy with prices this high. >> so they're jumping on us quickly and takes forever to t them back down. that is ridiculous. >> $10 in gas is not giving me a quarter of a tank if i made to put in $10 in gas. that is out of control and almost $5 a gallon. >> i ride my bike to work due to the gas prices. they have been increasing and i can't afford it. >> reporter: what is causing the higher prices? thnumber of reasons one, demand is up. two, california has a stricter standard for gas. you can't buy from surrounding states and on top of that, a number of refineries refining the gas for california have gone down. there was a major oil refinery fire in the bay area in august and a couple of others have gone offline as l. you add that up, that means there is less

gas on the market, more demand, prices come up, which doesn't make consumers happy. the governor signed a decree allowing the easier winter standards to come online but that is going to take a couple of weeks before prices come down and some people say they will comdown 10 or 15 cents. meantime, senator dianne feinstein is calling for congressional hearings suggesting that maybe there is some funny business going on in the the oil industry. any way you look at it, consumers are taking the hit as gas prices, again in california, the highest average on record now is above $4.60 a gallon n. los angeles, adam housley, fox news. farmers are using an app on their ipad to help plant crops. the field viewa app gives realtime information as farmers go through the feel. the apps corn calculator estimates the size of yield and doesn't protect against natural obstacles but some say the program saves time and money. >> what we have is corn and a crop that is other who, you

we thought we would start with a temperature trend to show you that we're going to see a little bit of a warm-up here in our accuweather temp tomorrow, 58 degrees and that is not the warm day. the temperature is average around 73 degrees for this time in october and we'll get closer to that mark on wednesday. and that is 70 degrees. the front comes through on wednesday and drops our temperature thursday to 64. friday, about 67 degrees and a little bit up and down but there will be some warmer days coming. i want to tell you that those temperatures that we hit, 55 at reagan national and dulles, 51 we set a record for that being chilly on this day. 53 is where we are and a lot of places north and west in the 40s and not just mid and upper 40s, but hagerstown where you're raping and martinsburg, 43 degrees; winchester, 41 and cumberland, 41. we want to show you that while we have our cool shot right

here and so does cincinnati at 55 and chicago at 58, there is some warm air on the weather map. lincoln, nebraska, 73 degrees and to amarillo we go to find the temperature of 72 and, yes, the beloved nats are playing, 61 degrees and some sunshine, too and let's talk about the radar and while we don't have widespread rain, we have showers here and they're chill, especially to the west. a lot of times drizzle doesn't she up. if you're getting a sprinkle of drizzle, that is not going to show you -- show up on radar. we put it in motion and there is looking like another wave of low pressure coming in later. now, most of what we have had has been to the north and west and particularly heavy as we get to the tide water area where we have some warm heavy imbedded showers and thunderstorms showing up. one last batch will roll through overnight and i wanted you to see the future cast. as we showed you this at 6:00, it has a good handle on what is going on.

understands -- the nfl understands the severe repercussions. the qb, robert griffin 3, felt good today as he passes the neurological elects and with that non-contact practice on wednesday and do not rule out a concern. the injury took place yesterday. and had the by shawn width or spoon. mike shanahan would like to see griffin go earlier next time to avoid the pushing hit. the league is taking a closer look at the information released during the game about the injury. the question the nfl has is whether the words shaken up meets the requirement of being accurate and timely, injury information. and this is how shanahan knew
